The Fin & Stanley Story

Based in Germany, Pierrot Hoepfner, aka Fin, and Benjamin Will, aka Stanley, have taken centre stage in the DJing world and certainly raised the bar within the music industry as a whole. These fine rhythmic and groovy baselined DJing artists are highly recognised for producing compelling and innovative productions that cultivate lasting impressions from start to finish, leaving their audiences wanting more. Together, these professionals have extensive knowledge in developing purposeful creations and have a true underlying passion for making the world a better, fun, and more enlightened place through their music.

Even before partnering up in 2009 to create Fin & Stanley Stockhausen and releasing their first DJ sets in 2012, these two musicians were always ardent about music. Both grew up around musical influences and enjoyed the power that music had over one’s mind and body. Fin was born into a family of artists, and his rooted admiration for music fostered at age 12 after being encouraged by his family. As for Stanley, he unearthed his passion at a young age through the inspiration of his uncle, who was a member of the band “Die Sterne.”

In the Summer of 2013, Fin & Stanly intertwined with a larger crew, enabling them to perform at regular open-air events across the broader Hamburg location. From Elbe River, Witten, to Wilhelmsburg, this duo performed at unforgettable party nights and were able to showcase what they were truly made of. And as much as they were in their prime, their career came to a four-year halt in 2014 due to Fin losing his father unexpectedly, which Stanley still stood by and supported him through that heartbreaking time. Then in 2017, Stanley became a father himself, which shifted his entire mindset and priorities, quitting his job and going back to initial roots that he loved for the last 20 years, music.

The team reunited again in 2018, releasing their first EP (“EP TWO!”) on the label Grey Bar Hotel, followed by eight more up through 2019. In that same year, they chose to shorten their name to just Fin & Stanley and finally brought their music back where it belonged, out on the dance floor. They began holding open-air events again above the roofs of the Reeperbahn and started streaming their living room sessions live on Facebook. From there, they became part of the Grey Bar Hotel Showcase series and played their first sets on the radio, which earned them their first significant festival gig at the Happy Town Festival 2019. Fast forward to today, they are still going strong, even enjoying the success of their ‘Outside Again’ EP making the Top 10 of Beatport’s Top 100 releases.

Every song that Fin & Stanley create paints an incredible picture that inevitably provokes uplifting emotional influences and invested attraction.

Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favourite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn’t know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about. Jazz is smooth and cool. Jazz is rage. Jazz flows like water. Jazz never seems to begin or end. Jazz isn’t methodical, but jazz isn’t messy either. Jazz is a conversation, a give and take. Jazz is the connection and communication between musicians.

Every song that Fin & Stanley create paints an incredible picture that inevitably provokes uplifting emotional influences and invested attraction. They are entirely passionate about delivering remarkable music, unlike anything that has been featured or experienced previously, and continuously provide second to none productions that have shaped them to become the DJing icons they are today. And with their immense drive and determination, they have already made a profound mark in the music industry, making it exciting to see what they will launch next.
